Mikel Arteta has watered down all transfer rumours circulating Alexandre Lacazette<\/a>, declaring his desires to keep the French International.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0<\/span>Eddie Nketiah<\/span><\/a> pushing for his place in the pecking order at Arsenal<\/a>, alongside the thought of no Champions League football,<\/span>\u00a0Lacazette<\/span> might be tempted to quit the Emirates. The Frenchman, who has two years left on his contract, has been the subject of a transfer move, with Atletico Madrid and <\/span>Juventus<\/span><\/a>\u00a0linked with the 29-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n

However,\u00a0<\/span>Arsenal<\/span><\/a>\u00a0head coach Mikel Arteta has openly stated his intent to\u00a0<\/span>keep hold of the France International<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Arteta Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Arsenal\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>FA Cup<\/span><\/a>\u00a0semi-final match with\u00a0<\/span>Manchester City<\/span><\/a>, Arteta said: “Why would I want to lose a player like him? I’m really happy with him. I really like Alex, I said that even before I joined here that he is the type of striker that I really like.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He further stated: “I think he had periods where he was very unlucky because he was having the chances and not converting them which he is not used to.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But the way he can link play, he’s a massive competitor he hates to lose. He goes for every ball, you see in every challenge how he’s ready to go. He works really hard and he’s a very intelligent player, I am really happy with him.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Involvement in Remaining Fixtures<\/h3>\n

Arteta hopes his side can bounce back from their earlier defeat to the Citizens<\/a> as he aims to get one over his former employees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lacazette, who has been on form lately, was instrumental in their last game against league champions\u00a0<\/span>Liverpool<\/span><\/a>. He latched on to a defensive mistake to open the scoring for the Gunners before setting up the second for Reiss Nelson in an emphatic a 2-1 victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Frenchman has recorded ten goals and four assists in all competitions this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
