J\u00fcrgen Klopp wants to bring Bayern Munich<\/a> midfielder, Thiago Alcantara,\u00a0to Liverpool<\/a> next season, according to Christian Falk.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The Reds boss told the Liverpool board that he wants to bring in the 29-year-old to bolster his squad for the 2020\/21 season.<\/p>\n

Deal Agreed Between Liverpool and Thiago?<\/h3>\n

According to German paper Bild<\/a>, personal terms have already been discussed and agreed between Thiago and Liverpool. But, negotiations continue to take place over the fee of the transfer.<\/p>\n

Munich are reportedly asking for \u20ac40 million for the midfielder, while Liverpool only want to pay \u20ac25 million to bring the Spain international to Anfield.<\/p>\n

Unsettled Thiago<\/h3>\n

Thiago will enter the final year of his contract with Bayern next season, which expires in June 2021, following seven years with the club.<\/p>\n

However, the 29-year-old pushed for a move away<\/a> from the Bundesliga champions. This came after a contract dispute between Thiago and Die Bayern<\/em> as he wanted a four-year contract, but Bayern would only offer three.<\/p>\n

As a result, Thiago reportedly asked for a move away<\/a> from the Bavarian club in search of a new challenge. Klopp looks poised to move for the wantaway midfielder.<\/p>\n

A Coup for Klopp<\/h3>\n

Liverpool and Klopp seem keen to move on Thiago’s willingness to move on from Bayern. He made 36 appearances for the Bundesliga champions in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and making two assists.<\/p>\n

The experienced midfielder would be a strong addition to Klopp’s squad and would enhance his options as the Reds look to defend their Premier League title next season.<\/p>\n

Thiago boasts a glittering career with Munich following his move from Barcelona<\/a> in July 2013. He won the Bundesliga in seven consecutive seasons with the Bavaria club, including claiming this year’s league title.<\/p>\n

The Spanish midfielder also won four DFK Pokal titles, three German Super Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup title in 2014.<\/p>\n
