Former Chelsea<\/a> and Germany International Andre Schurrle<\/a> has terminated<\/span>\u00a0his contract with Borussia Dortmund,<\/a> bringing an end to his four-year stay at the\u00a0Westfalenstadion<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old who lifted the World Cup with Germany in 2014, had one-year left on his contract but is to<\/span>\u00a0become a free agent after a contract termination settlement was reached.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mixed Spell in Dortmund<\/h3>\n

In 2013,\u00a0he\u00a0signed for English giants Chelsea from Bayer 04 Leverkusen and he would\u00a0have a successful stint at the London club.\u00a0<\/span>He returned to Germany after two years, signing for VfL Wolfsburg, where he won the DFB Pokal and German Super Cup in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016, Borussia Dortmund secured his services for $27.5 million, signing him\u00a0<\/span>on a five-year deal from\u00a0Wolfsburg,\u00a0and he immediately won his second German Cup title with The Black and Yellows. A mixed spell at the club, however, saw him spend the last two years out on\u00a0loan at Fulham<\/a>\u00a0and Spartak Moscow, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to the\u00a0<\/span>BVB official website<\/a>, Schurrle stated: \u201cLooking back, it’s been a time with a lot of ups and downs<\/span>, and a valuable experience, both in the sporting sense but also privately.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI’d like to thank the club’s bosses and wish the club and its special fans all the best for the future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Andre Schurrle<\/span>\u00a0can look back on his memorable time in the English Premier League with Chelsea, where he won the domestic double for the Blues in 2015 and\u00a0his successful stint at Wolfsburg, where he won the German Super Cup for Die W\u00f6lfe against Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

Andre Schurrle recorded <\/span>eight goals and added 10 assists<\/a>\u00a0in over 50 appearances during his spell at the Signal Iduna Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

The World Cup winner has made 288 career appearances, playing for Mainz, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Chelsea, Wolfsburg, Dortmund, Fulham and Spartak Moscow.<\/p>\n

He has 68 career goals and 35 assists under his belt in his 11 years as a professional.<\/p>\n
