Leicester City<\/a> have joined the race for Real Madrid<\/a> forward Luka Jovic<\/a> after he was transfer-listed by Los Blancos.<\/em><\/p>\n

Brendan Rodgers Keen on Jovic<\/h3>\n

The East Midlands side, who remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot, appear keen to sign the 22-year-old.<\/p>\n

Both the Daily Star<\/a> and LeicestershireLive<\/a> have reported that Brendan Rodgers wants to bring the Serbian to the King Power Stadium.<\/p>\n

Marca<\/a> in Spain have also reported that Madrid were initially open to loan offers, however, it now appears that they will let him leave on a permanent deal.<\/p>\n

Jovic only joined Zinedine Zidane’s side 12 months ago, in a \u00a354 million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

Leicester Battle Chelsea For Real Madrid Forward<\/h3>\n

Leicester have joined fellow Premier League<\/a> side, Chelsea<\/a>, in the hunt for the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt man.<\/p>\n

However, with the London side already signing forward Timo Werner this summer<\/a>, could Jovic be heading to the Midlands?<\/p>\n

Jovic scored 27 goals for the German side last year and the Foxes have already made contact with his agent.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest that while a loan may still be preferable for Los Blancos<\/em>, he could depart for a \u00a331 million fee. This comes after a disappointing debut season for the forward.<\/p>\n

Jovic’s Woeful Year At Real Madrid<\/h3>\n

Jovic came to the Bernabeu in the hope of challenging Karim Benzema<\/a> for a place in the side; however, he has made just seven starts across all competitions, scoring only twice.<\/p>\n

Multiple injuries have kept the forward out of the side for much of the year with many of his appearances coming off the bench late on.<\/p>\n

The player’s off-field behaviour won’t help his image in the Spanish capital either. When coronavirus hit, the forward returned to Serbia and proceeded to break the country’s quarantine rules.<\/p>\n

On his return to Madrid he became injured and also flouted La Liga’s coronavirus protocols by attending a barbecue with fellow Serbian footballers Nemanja Maksimovic<\/a> and Ivan Saponjic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These actions may be the final straw for the Real Madrid hierarchy and Leicester could be looking to capitalise with a cut-price deal.<\/p>\n
