Leeds United<\/a> have been dealt a blow in their proposed chase of Celtic<\/a> forward Odsonne Edouard, reports claim.<\/p>\n

Prolific in the Scottish Premiership<\/h3>\n

The 22-year-old is reportedly a target for Marcelo Bielsa<\/a> if Leeds are promoted to the top flight.<\/p>\n

The Whites lead West Bromwich Albion<\/a> at the top of the Championship<\/a> by just a point.<\/p>\n

Bielsa\u2019s side have consistently been fighting for a chance to be promoted to the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Edouard would add a crucial element of firepower to the Whites should they reach the top-flight.<\/p>\n

He has scored 28 goals in 45 appearances for the Hoops and is drawing attention from across the border.<\/p>\n

Since arriving in Glasgow in 2018, the 22-year-old has scored 61 goals; an impressive tally that stands at just under a goal per game.<\/p>\n

The Hoops have already put a \u00a340 million pricetag on their prized possession to discourage potential suitors.<\/p>\n

Football Insider claim today (July 8), that the Scottish champions are also progressing with discussions about a new contract for the forward.<\/p>\n

Celtic are unwilling to let the forward leave easily as they go in search of \u201910 in a row\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Scottish side have not formalised an agreement between the striker and Neil Lennon; however, they are growing in confidence that a deal can be struck.<\/p>\n

Edouard has a clear significance at Celtic after he was named Scottish Player of the Year for his performances this term.<\/p>\n

Edouard could follow in the footsteps of Kieran Tierney (\u00a325 million) and Moussa Dembele (\u00a319 million) in departing Celtic.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest firm interest from Leeds United in Edouard; but a pricetag of \u00a340 million, in a market where fees have been cut due to coronavirus, could possibly be a step too far for the Whites.<\/p>\n
