Liverpool<\/a> midfielder Adam Lallana<\/a> is unlikely to play for the club again according to manager Jurgen Klopp.<\/p>\n

Klopp said he is reluctant to play the player as he doesn’t want to jeopardise his next move with a risk of injury.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old signed a short term extension to keep him at the club until the season finishes. However, he will leave once that runs out and there are a few clubs in the running for Lallana’s signature.<\/p>\n

Adam Lallana Unlikely to Play For Liverpool Again<\/h2>\n

What Klopp said<\/h3>\n

Speaking in his press conference before Liverpool’s game<\/a> against Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a>, Klopp said<\/a>: “It is clear Adam will leave the club in the summer.<\/p>\n

“Now we have a difficult situation, but I will respect Adam a lot. And everything with Adam is sorted, let me say it like this.<\/p>\n

“He is so fit, he is training, everything is fine. But yes, the future is his future, and if we need his help on the pitch we can get it. He is there.<\/p>\n

“He trains 100 per cent but as long as we don’t need it, he will just train. That is the normal thing.”<\/p>\n

Lallana was meant to leave when his contract ran out at the end of June. However, he signed an extension until the end of the season after the season was postponed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

“I think there were a lot of discussions about players without contracts, with him there was not even a discussion.<\/p>\n

“It was clear Adam would extend his contract and he wants to do that as well, but he will not put any risk on his future or whatever. That is absolutely clear.”<\/p>\n

Klopp had big praise for the player, even going as far as to say he is a legend at Liverpool.<\/p>\n

“For now, if you ask me about it, I miss already everything about him. He is one of the most influential players on the training quality I have ever had in my life. He is an incredible professional.<\/p>\n

“So he is one of the most important players of the time since I am here so I wish him only the best for the future.<\/p>\n

“From my point of view he is already a legend here, so he can become a legend somewhere else from next season on.”<\/p>\n

Promotion For Curtis Jones<\/h3>\n

With Lallana leaving, could this mean Curtis Jones<\/a> becomes a first-team player on a full-time basis?<\/p>\n

The youngster has just put pen to paper on a new long-term deal<\/a>. He celebrated by scoring his first Premier League goal for the club in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory<\/a> against Aston Villa<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

He has been given more game time since scoring a superb goal against Everton<\/a> in the FA Cup in January and has been a mainstay on Liverpool’s bench since late December.<\/p>\n

His inclusion in the first-team squad is down to his impressive performances for Liverpool’s U23’s, where his nine goals and five assists in 14 games.<\/p>\n

It looks like Klopp is really keen to give him game time. With Lallana going there is a space in the squad which Jones looks set to take.<\/p>\n
