Arsenal<\/a> striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang<\/a> has set out the terms he wants in his new contract to remain with the Gunners, according to James Olley of ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Potential Three-Year Deal<\/h3>\n

The 31-year-old is reportedly demanding a three-year deal to remain at The Emirates.<\/p>\n

Aubameyang is out of contract next summer, and currently, Arsenal risk losing him for free.<\/p>\n

The forward would have plenty of suitors too, should he leave Arsenal. Chelsea<\/a> remain long-term admirers of the Gabonese international, according to the Daily Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a result, Arsenal are keen on tying him down to a new deal. However, according to the report by ESPN, negotiations have been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic<\/p>\n

As well as a three-year deal, Aubameyang is demanding wages of \u00a3250,000-a-week, which would increase wages by \u00a350,000.<\/p>\n

Can Arsenal Afford to Keep Aubameyang?<\/h3>\n

Arsenal’s budget for the next season is yet to be agreed. However, finances will be analysed following the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Arsenal may not be able to afford to keep the Gabonese striker at The Emirates Stadium. Financial matters may only be further complicated if they miss out on the Europa League and European football all together.<\/p>\n

Speaking to John Cross of the Daily Mirror<\/a> last summer, Josh Kroenke, a director at Arsenal, said: “It\u2019s no secret that we have a Champions League wage bill on a Europa League budget right now. That\u2019s a fact. And one that we\u2019re figuring out how to face internally at the moment.”<\/p>\n

The Gunners’ terrible 2019\/20 season may make matters even worse than last summer. As a result, Aubameyang could be a luxury that the club may not be able to afford.<\/p>\n

On the contrary, they may feel that the 31-year-old is the player that will help them back to regular Champions League football. Despite his age, he has registered 22 goals in 36 appearances this season, an impressive record for any striker.<\/p>\n
