Bayern Munich<\/a> have made a tough decision on the future of key midfielder Thiago Alcantara<\/a>. Premier League champions Liverpool<\/a> are linked with a move for the Spaniard. Alcanatara has just one year remaining on his Bayern deal. As a result, all parties need to reach a final decision. Christian Falk of SportBild<\/a> claims that Bayern’s chiefs made their minds up about the wantaway Spaniard.<\/p>\n

A Move to the Premier League?<\/h3>\n

This is not the first time that Thiago has been linked with a Premier League move. Back in 2013, David Moyes attempted to bring him to Manchester United<\/a>. They agreed a \u00a321million deal, however, Moyes opted to bring in Marouane Fellaini<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n

A move to Bayern Munich followed, with Thiago becoming one of the world’s best midfielders. At 29, Thiago has made it clear that he wants to play in the Premier League years after his first move fell through.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are chasing Thiago’s signature according to a multitude of reports. Their midfield options are already very strong, however, Thiago would provide an extra layer of dynamism. His passing range is far superior to Liverpool’s current midfield options, consequently, even better chance creation for the deadly front three.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

This week, Bayern Munich Chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced that they are allowing Thiago to pursue a move.<\/p>\n

As per Christian Falk of SportBild, Rummenigge commented<\/a>: “It now seems that he wants to do something new for one more time,”<\/p>\n

“We don’t want to lose a player for free next year. I say that very clearly!”<\/p>\n

Thiago is declining to extend his current deal, therefore, it is certain that the 29-year-old will be bowing out of the Allianz Arena.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are the only club linked to the playmaker, however, it is likely that this development will attract further interest. This may potentially turn into a major transfer saga this summer.<\/p>\n
