Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> have confirmed<\/a> that left-back Layvin Kurzawa<\/a> has signed a new four-year deal at the Parc des Princes.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old was a target for Arsenal<\/a> in January, according to Sky Sports.<\/a><\/p>\n

Career So Far<\/h3>\n

After spending six seasons with AS Monaco – where he began his career – Kurzawa moved to the French capital in the summer of 2015.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old made 25 appearances during his first season with the club, registering his first goal for the club during a 4-1 win over Saint-Etienne.<\/p>\n

Throughout his time with the French Champions, Kurzawa has proved to be an excellent attacking force on the left-hand side. He has scored 13 times during his five-year spell with the club, also registering 17 assists in the process.<\/p>\n

However, he has also never made the left-back position his own, and is often rotated in and out of the starting line-up. This season he has shared the role with Juan Bernat<\/a>; however, he has also competed with Maxwell and Yuri Berchiche<\/a> in the past.<\/p>\n

Have Arsenal Missed Out On a Good Signing?<\/h3>\n

The Gunners were reportedly close to agreeing a deal for the French left-back in January, and were still maintaining interest this summer.<\/p>\n

However, Project Restart has proved kind to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta when it comes to choosing his starting left-back.<\/p>\n

Kieran Tierney<\/a> has returned to the squad, having been plagued with injuries since arriving at The Emirates last summer. The Scotsman has impressed too, earning praise from his manager.<\/p>\n

Arteta now has options at left-back. Sead Kolasinac<\/a> has returned from the injury he suffered in a 3-2 win over Everton,<\/a> and has featured in the Gunners’ last three games.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Spaniard can also call upon youngster Bukayo Saka<\/a>, whose versatility has been highlighted throughout much of this season.<\/p>\n

As a result, signing Kurzawa was likely to have been a luxury for Arsenal.<\/p>\n
