Ex-Burnley<\/a> goalkeeper Joe Hart<\/a> believes that he is still young when it comes to goalkeeping.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old spoke to BBC Sport<\/a> about his career and his time at Turf Moor<\/p>\n

‘I’m looking forward, I’m looking forward to the future. I’ve got nothing holding me back,” said Hart.<\/p>\n

The former England international has spent much of his time glued to the bench under Sean Dyche at Burnley. However, he is hoping that does not block his future.<\/p>\n

“The fact I have had to sit on the bench for 18 months in the Premier League is not going to define or crush me.<\/p>\n

“I remember who I am. I remember playing for my local Sunday league team and trying to get into the Shrewsbury Town first team. I learned early – you need to keep things in perspective.<\/p>\n

“You can have great things said about you in football, but you have to be strong on self-criticism, analyse what you are doing and be comfortable with it.<\/p>\n

“Maybe from the outside, people are thinking it is a time for panic, but from the inside it is a time to look forward and see all the opportunities.<\/p>\n

“I am young when it comes to goalkeeping. I am even younger when it comes to the mental age of a guy who just wants to go in goal and have people whack balls at him.”<\/p>\n

Where Next for Joe Hart Following Disappointing Spell With Burnley?<\/h3>\n

As previously stated, Hart has not had the most successful spell with Burnley.<\/p>\n

The former Manchester City<\/a> goalkeeper initially started as first-choice. However, following the return of Nick Pope<\/a> midway through last season, the 33-year-old returned to the bench and has spent the majority of the last 18 months as second-choice.<\/p>\n

However, he continues to remain optimistic about his future, especially when it comes to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

“The Premier League is a tough nut to crack in terms of finding a number one.<\/p>\n

“I’m open minded, I’ve got a good team around me. I’m willing to have conversations with anyone who really believes in me, so that’s all I need. I need someone to believe in me and I’ll repay that faith.”<\/p>\n

With experience and willingness to get back onto the pitch, Hart is likely to have plenty of suitors. According to reports, Scottish champions Celtic<\/a> are one of several clubs interested in the 33-year-old.<\/p>\n
