Charlton Athletic travel to play-off chasing Cardiff City<\/a> in what will be an important game at both ends of the table on Tuesday evening. The Addicks are one of several sides involved in a relegation battle, while the Bluebirds are hoping to maintain their play-off spot.<\/p>\n

Recent Form<\/h3>\n

Both clubs have started in emphatic fashion following enforced three-month hiatus.<\/p>\n

Cardiff returned with a 2-0 win over title-contenders Leeds United at home, thanks to goals from Junior Hoilett<\/a> and Robert Glatzel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bluebirds then crept into the play-offs at the weekend following a 3-1 over Preston North End.<\/p>\n

Lee Bowyer’s Charlton are also in a similar vain of form, however. Following a 1-0 away to relegation rivals Hull City, the Addicks then beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at The Valley.<\/p>\n

However, the south London club are still only three points above the drop. As a result, there is still plenty to play for at the Cardiff City Stadium.<\/p>\n

Head to Head Record<\/h3>\n

There has been little to separate the two sides in recent years.<\/p>\n

The two sides drew 2-2 at The Valley earlier this season, in what Neill Harris’ first game in charge of the Bluebirds.<\/p>\n

Cardiff last defeated Charlton in 2015, where goals from Joe Mason<\/a> and Sean Morrison<\/a> sealed the win for the Bluebirds.<\/p>\n

Changes Expected?<\/h3>\n

There are likely to be changes to the two sides on Tuesday. Both Cardiff and Charlton have named unchanged teams in back-to-back games since the restart.<\/p>\n

As a result of their retrospective league positions and points to play for, neither Bowyer or Harris will be wanting to risk further injuries to their squads.<\/p>\n

Prediction<\/h3>\n

Cardiff have looked impressive since the return of Championship, converting their chances and being clinical in attack.<\/p>\n

However, Charlton will prove a tough test for the Bluebirds. The Addicks taking six points from their last two games will give them a major confidence boost.<\/p>\n
