Sheffield United<\/a> trio John Lundstram,<\/a> John Egan<\/a> and\u00a0Chris Basham<\/a>\u00a0have been offered non-negotiable contracts by the club, according to manager Chris Wilder.<\/p>\n

The Sheffield Star<\/a> has reported that the Blades boss has given the three players an offer, but it’s up to them whether they take it or not.<\/p>\n

Trio in the Premier League<\/h3>\n

It has been a solid season for Sheffield United. Their return to the Premier League<\/a> has surpassed the expectations of many football fans, pundits and journalists across the world.<\/p>\n

Lundstram, who joined the Blades from League One side Oxford United<\/a> in 2017, has scored four goals and provided three assists from 29 games this season. However, he is the only one of the three that will see his contract expire in the summer, and could move on a free if he doesn’t sign a new deal.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, central defenders Egan and Basham have also been a key part of the Yorkshire clubs’ success, with the duo making 61 appearances between them this season.<\/p>\n

If the three players sign new deals, they will follow Billy Sharp, Oliver Norwood<\/a> and David McGoldrick<\/a> in signing new agreements.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Wilder said: \u201cWe have spoken to them and their agents. Our offers have been left with them and it\u2019s up to those players, if they want, to take up the reward of what we\u2019ve offered them. Because that\u2019s what it is – a reward.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a reward for their efforts so far and we want to keep them at the football club.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll leave them (the offers) out there and see what response we get from the players and most importantly their agents, which seems to be the way of the world these days.”<\/p>\n

Return to Action<\/h3>\n

Sheffield United returned to action on Wednesday night when they were held to a goalless draw at Aston Villa<\/a>. However, the match didn’t pass without controversy after the Blades scored a goal in which the goal-line technology failed to recognise the ball crossing the line.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wilder’s side return to action tomorrow afternoon when they welcome Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United<\/a> to Bramall Lane.<\/p>\n
