Another pulsating round of La Liga<\/a> matches have come to an end, with plenty of talking points and exciting action. Joao Felix<\/a> scored twice as Atletico Madrid<\/a> put five past Osasuna<\/a>. Alaves<\/a> secured a huge win in the Basque derby with Real Sociedad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barcelona maintained top spot in La Liga after beating Leganes. Real Madrid saw off Valencia with an excellent second-half display. The only other side to collect a win was Villarreal who saw off struggling Mallorca.<\/p>\n

Joao Felix Scores Twice in Atletico Madrid Rout<\/h2>\n

A Good Night in What\u2019s Been a Difficult Season For Joao Felix<\/h3>\n

Joao Felix scored twice in Atletico Madrid\u2019s 5-0 win at Osasuna. The Portuguese international enjoyed one of his better nights in a difficult first season in Spain.<\/p>\n

It was Felix who got the scoring underway firing a fierce shot into the top corner. You could see the confidence flowing through Felix\u2019s veins and soon he added a second. The talented 20-year-old latched onto Diego Costa\u2019s cross and coolly tapped the ball into the net.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid added further gloss with three goals in the space of eleven minutes. Marcos Llorente made it 3-0 when Osasuna fell asleep from a set-piece. Llorente would set up Atletico\u2019s fourth, putting Alvaro Morata through on goal and the big striker finished excellently.<\/p>\n

Yannick Carrasco completed the rout with Llorente playing another excellent pass through to the winger. It was the Belgian\u2019s first goal since returning to the club in January. To complete a terrific night, goalkeeper Jan Oblak kept his 100th<\/sup> clean sheet in just 182 games for Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

The result sees Diego Simeone\u2019s team climb back into the top four climbing above Real Sociedad and Getafe. Osasuna drop to 13th<\/sup> after their heaviest home defeat of the season.<\/p>\n

Alaves Collect Terrific Basque Derby Victory<\/h3>\n

Alaves secured a sensational derby victory beating Real Sociedad in a heated game. Asier Garitano\u2019s side sealed victory thanks to goals from Borja Sainz and Martin Aguirregabiria.<\/p>\n

After a slow start, the game really ignited in the second half. A goal was desperately needed to kick the game into life. It was the home side who struck the opening goal courtesy of Sainz, who scored his first La Liga goal.<\/p>\n

The goal was given following a VAR review when Sainz tapped the ball into the net meeting Lisandro Magallan\u2019s flick. The game soon sparked into life with goal opportunities and fierce challenges going in.<\/p>\n

Real Sociedad would soon pay the price when Jose Zaldua was sent off for two yellow cards. The Sociedad defender caught Luis Rioja late. Alaves would also finish the contest with ten men when Tomas Pina was dismissed too. The Alaves defensive midfielder was given his marching orders for a rash challenge on Roberto Lopez.<\/p>\n

Alaves sealed their victory in the sixth minute of stoppage time courtesy of Aguirregabiria. The defender pounced on a loose ball in the Real Sociedad area and fired the ball past Alex Remiro.<\/p>\n

The result sees Alaves climb to 12th<\/sup> and move level on points with Levante and Osasuna. More significantly, Alaves pull eight points clear of the relegation zone. Real Sociedad drop to sixth after a miserable evening in more ways than one.<\/p>\n
