Tottenham Hotspur\u2019s<\/a> restart to the Premier League season must be a successful one. In one of the strangest seasons ever known, Spurs\u00a0face Manchester United<\/a> at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday 19th June live on Sky Sports in their first game back since the Coronavirus pause.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur\u2019s Restart Must Be Decisive<\/h2>\n

Spurs Have Little Room for Error<\/h3>\n

As the Premier League<\/a> restarts, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are focused on securing a top-four place. United currently sit fifth on 45 points whilst Spurs are eighth, four points further back.<\/p>\n

Results Before Lockdown Were Poor<\/h3>\n

The enforced break from action can help Tottenham. Results<\/a>\u00a0prior to lockdown were unsatisfactory – knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Norwich City<\/a>, a lacklustre draw away at Burnley<\/a> in the league and Spurs\u2019 final game was a 3-0 defeat away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Injuries have hampered boss Jose Mourinho this season. Harry Kane<\/a>, Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn<\/a>, Moussa Sissoko<\/a> and others have all been out injured. This has left a depleted squad to choose from. The first three are now ready for action with Spurs looking to have a strong finish to the season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur\u2019s Season in the Balance<\/h3>\n

Even the most optimistic Tottenham Hotspur fan will know that a top-four finish is all they can really hope for to save their season of turmoil. Just over a year ago, the North London club competed in the Champions League final. It was supposedly a seminal moment to show that Spurs were ready to challenge for top honours.<\/p>\n

A lacklustre transfer window and the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino<\/a> was followed by the arrival of the newly dubbed \u2018humble one\u2019, Jose Mourinho. A good start was rocked by injuries and now Spurs must hit the restart running.<\/p>\n

Tottenham cannot afford to drop points and need to start with three points against a Manchester United team that were showing signs of resurgence prior to lockdown.<\/p>\n
