Highly-rated Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham<\/a> is set to sign for Borussia Dortmund instead of Manchester United<\/a>, according to Christian Falk, Sport Bild\u2019s Head of Football.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Appeal of the Bundesliga<\/h3>\n

Bellingham became Birmingham\u2019s youngest ever player after making his professional debut in the Carabao Cup in August 2019 at the age of 16 years and 38 days. Since then, he has been a mainstay in the Blues\u2019 team and has earned high praise for a number of stellar performances.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with utdreport.co.uk<\/a>, a Manchester United news website, Falk revealed that the 16-year-old looks set for a move to Germany.<\/p>\n

To explain why Bellingham is likely to choose the Bundesliga<\/a> instead of a switch to Old Trafford, the Bild writer made reference to current Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Falk said: \u201cI think the Sancho way is a big advertisement for the Bundesliga for English talents. Sancho wouldn\u2019t have got this chance at City as quickly. Pep Guardiola apparently even spoke to the bosses of Bayern, saying that Sancho was difficult.<\/p>\n

\u201cNevertheless, Bayern still wanted Sancho. Sancho decided against the top club Bayern, which has experienced stars similar to City & co. in England.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strong clubs in the Bundesliga, behind Bayern, offer talented English players a chance to play, even internationally. Bellingham will therefore also go to Dortmund, not United. You will see. Our information is that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bellingham’s Career so far<\/h3>\n

Bellingham has made 32 appearances for Birmingham in the Championship so far this season and has four goals to his name. Outgoing Blues boss Pep Clotet<\/a> has used him mainly in central midfield but has also taken advantage of Bellingham\u2019s versatility by playing him on either the left or right flank in certain games.<\/p>\n

The Stourbridge-born teenager also has international experience at youth level, having turned out for England\u2019s under-15, under-16 and under-17 teams.<\/p>\n

With his 17th <\/sup>birthday coming up at the end of June, Bellingham will no doubt be relishing the prospect of some European exposure in the Bundesliga. As Falk mentioned, the emergence of fellow Englishman Sancho for the Black and Yellows as well as for the England senior team only serves as a good omen for how Bellingham could develop as a player on the continent.<\/p>\n
