Manchester United<\/a> have had some truly world-class strikers at the club in their time. Between Andy Cole<\/a>, Wayne Rooney<\/a>, Eric Cantona<\/a>, Ruud van Nistelrooy and so many more, the Red Devils\u2019 past front-men have been magnificent. It is then, perhaps, a slight surprise to see that, according to Rob Dawson of ESPN<\/a>, United have ended their striker search. However, looking at the quality of their options, and the current situation, it may not be such a bad idea.<\/p>\n

Manchester United End Striker Search<\/h2>\n

Coronavirus Causing Financial Struggles for all<\/h3>\n

The Coronavirus has caused financial struggles for everyone, even the world\u2019s biggest and richest clubs. United are no exception, with the Red Devils recently reporting a substantial increase in their debt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This will mean that their summer transfers may not consist of the familiar big-money expenditure. Jadon Sancho<\/a> may seem to be<\/a> on his way to Manchester, but with that move likely to take up much of their financial means, the team need to use the rest of their money wisely.<\/p>\n

\u00a3200 million for Harry Kane<\/a>, for example<\/a>, may not be the best use of their limited remaining budget.<\/p>\n

Expensive Strikers<\/h3>\n

Strikers are one of the most expensive players to buy, being that they are so important to the team.<\/p>\n

Hence, as previously mentioned, Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> want \u00a3200 million for their star player Harry Kane. And other options won\u2019t come cheap either, with Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>\u00a0goal-scorer Ra\u00fal Jim\u00e9nez<\/a>\u00a0looking to cost<\/a> nearly \u00a3100 million.<\/p>\n

This is already a fairly hefty sum, but with the added complication of Covid-19, United will be even less willing to splash that sort of cash.<\/p>\n

United Have Quality Strikers Already<\/h3>\n

Manchester United already have some quality strikers up their sleeves.<\/p>\n

Anthony Martial<\/a> has successfully filled the hole left by Romelu Lukaku<\/a> this season, and was in a hot run of form before the Premier League<\/a> was suspended in mid-March.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils also have wonderkid Mason Greenwood<\/a> at Old Trafford. He has the potential to become world-class, and already has fantastic natural ability.<\/p>\n

Odion Ighalo also recently extended his loan deal at the club<\/a>. So far, his dream move to Manchester has been successful, having proven his doubters wrong. Now he will be staying there at least until January, leaving the Red Devils with no desperate need for a new striker.<\/p>\n
