Leonardo Bittencourt scored a vital goal for Werder Bremen<\/a> as they beat Schalke<\/a>, while Jadon Sancho scored a first career hat-trick as Borussia Dortmund<\/a> thrashed SC Paderborn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, there were crucial wins for Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich<\/a>, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha Berlin, Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

Leonardo Bittencourt Secures Vital Win dor Werder Bremen<\/h2>\n

Bittencourt Helps Bremen Make it Seven Points From Three Games<\/h3>\n

A fourth goal of the season for Leonardo Bittencourt secured a vital win for strugglers Werder Bremen. Bittencourt\u2019s first-half goal was enough to heap more misery on Schalke, who slump to a sixth defeat in seven Bundesliga games.<\/p>\n

A brilliant counter-attack decided the game as Bittencourt latched onto Milot Rashica\u2019s pass before firing a fierce shot into the top corner. Bremen defended brilliantly thereon, with the experienced duo of Sebastian Langkamp and Niklas Moisander leading from the back and helping Bremen secure consecutive away wins.<\/p>\n

The result sets Bremen up nicely for their crucial game with Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday. They remain 17th<\/sup> in the table but are just three points adrift of safety with six games to play. Schalke\u2019s miserable run continues, and the pressure is mounting on manager David Wagner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jadon Sancho Stars as Dortmund Thrash Paderborn<\/h3>\n

Jadon Sancho\u2019s first career hat-trick helped Dortmund to a thunderous win at basement club Paderborn. The England attacker was in outstanding form on the day he made a statement of his own both on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n

After a goalless first half, Dortmund seized the initiative in the second half with two goals inside the first 12 minutes. Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring after latching onto a loose ball after Leopold Zingerle fumbled the ball. Sancho added a second just moments later, tapping in Julian Brandt\u2019s cross.<\/p>\n

Paderborn pulled one back from the spot after Emre Can handled in the area. Uwe Hunemeier converted but the joy was short-lived as Dortmund got a third just two minutes later courtesy of Sancho. The talented attacker hit a wonderful shot on his weaker foot to seal three points. Dortmund would add further gloss in the final 15 minutes. Achraf Hakimi drilled in a fourth before Marcel Schmelzer added number five after Dortmund broke on the counter.<\/p>\n
