Big news coming from the blue half of Merseyside is that Everton<\/a> youth squad goalkeeper Daniel Rose has been signed by German club FC Schalke 04<\/a>. Apparently, the Republic of Ireland<\/a> youth International had turned down a contract offered by the Toffees recently.<\/p>\n

BBC Correspondent Ian Dennis tweeted<\/a> about the move saying how big a switch it is for the young but promising goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

Its a brave move for the 16-year-old as the saga revolving German clubs signing youth starlets from English clubs continues. No details regarding the transfer fee have come out yet in the media.<\/p>\n

Everton U18 Goalkeeper Daniel Rose joins FC Schalke 04<\/h2>\n

Rose and his South Manchester Roots<\/h3>\n

The young Irishman, who is a pupil of Manchester Grammar School (MGS), is originally from Wilmslow. He is the captain of MGS’ football side but the major footballing influence for him has been due to his time with the Everton academy.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Rose had powered the Everton academy side to victory in the Premier League<\/a> International Finals Tournament. The stopper only conceded a single goal in the entire tournament.<\/p>\n

He was part of the Everton youth side who has consistently dominated stronger academy teams like Manchester United<\/a>, Chelsea<\/a> and Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Analysing his Future at Schalke<\/h3>\n

Rose’s intentions were pretty clear after he turned down a contract with Everton. But the trajectory of his upcoming career was uncertain. Germany seems to be his final choice after the revelation by the BBC journalist today.<\/p>\n

Schalke have a decent youth academy. The 16-year-old could really benefit by playing in foreign conditions which are very different from England or Ireland. Germany has been a hub for great rising goal-keepers and even established ones.<\/p>\n

With respect to his prospects at Schalke, the German club already boasts two great young goalkeepers. Alexander Nubel<\/a> (23) and Markus Schubert<\/a> (21) are already giving head-coach David Wagner selection crisis. So, Rose might not have Schalke in his long term plans.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, a move to Germany from England has proven to be a game-changer for young players in European football. We might hear a lot about the highly-rated Everton youth keeper in the future.<\/p>\n

He will also team up with defender Jonjoe Kenny<\/a> who himself is on loan from Everton, but the 23-year-old is hoping to remain in Germany<\/a>.<\/p>\n
