The EFL<\/a> has confirmed that from the latest round of Coronavirus testing, 17 individuals across all three divisions have tested positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n

EFL Announces Latest Coronavirus Testing Figures<\/h2>\n

Ten Positive Tests From the Championship<\/h3>\n

1058 tests were conducted on Thursday May 28 and Friday May 30 at all 24 clubs, which returned 10 positive tests from eight clubs.<\/p>\n

As a result of the positive test, they will now adhere to Government guidelines and isolate for the recommended period.<\/p>\n

From the latest round of testing, Cardiff City<\/a> has confirmed that a member of staff has contracted the virus.<\/p>\n

In the last round of figures, only three staff members tested positiv<\/a>e from two clubs.<\/p>\n

Testing will continue in the Championship, as they look to finish the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

League Two Returns Positive Tests<\/h3>\n

Despite having its season curtailed, a small number of tests have been conducted in League Two.<\/p>\n

Four clubs took part in the testing. Out of 135 players and staff, seven were concluded as positive.<\/p>\n

Exeter City<\/a> were one of the clubs who took part in the testing. A statement<\/a> on the club website has confirmed that two players have tested positive, despite not displaying symptoms previously.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Northampton Town returned one positive test from their players and staff who took part. Physiotherapist, Ignacio Herrando, will now self-isolate for seven days, the club has confirmed.<\/a><\/p>\n

Testing Yet to Begin in League One<\/h3>\n

No tests have taken place yet in League One. This is partly due to no decision being made as to whether the season will continue.<\/p>\n

While there is hope that the Championship will be able to resume, League One is still undecided.<\/p>\n

Whether the EFL’s second division will return to action is still unclear. Some clubs are in favour of resuming the season, however, the financial situation at other clubs has proved a stumbling block.<\/p>\n
