Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed his squad\u2019s previously injured players have recovered and are now ready for selection. The Spurs boss has issued the positive update<\/a> ahead of the Premier League’s return<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite a positive start to life in north London, Mourinho quickly found himself with more work to do. Before football’s temporary suspension, Spurs were in dire straits. The final stretch saw Mourinho\u2019s side winless in six games and seven points out of a Champions League spot; crashing out of the Champions League<\/a> and FA Cup<\/a> in the process.<\/p>\n

The loss of attackers Son Heung-min<\/a> and Harry Kane<\/a>, January signing Steven Bergwijn<\/a> and midfielder Moussa Sissoko<\/a> undoubtedly affected Spurs\u2019 form. However, football\u2019s halt has seemingly given Mourinho and his players a chance to recuperate.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn relation to the big injuries that ended in surgeries, Moussa [Sissoko], Sonny and Harry [Kane], yes, they are back,\u201d Mourinho told the club\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cWe are going to start training with the full group next Monday, and yes, they are going to be involved in the group.\u201d<\/p>\n

The return of the squad\u2019s attacking core will serve as good news to Spurs fans, whose side currently sit in eighth.<\/p>\n

Wary of Performance Issues Ahead of Return<\/h3>\n

While Mourinho has acted as the bearer of good news, the Portuguese has been quick to manage expectations. The 10-week postponement has meant that all players will experience a lack of match sharpness; the Spurs boss, however, acknowledges the short-term challenges ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to be ready for problems now because this is pre-season, and pre-season brings problems. I know that some people are speaking about it in a way that it\u2019s a new thing in football, but it\u2019s not a new thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cProblems in pre-season, players a long time without playing, without even training on the pitch without competing. So now the players are back, I can\u2019t imagine it\u2019s going to be different for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spurs are set to face-off against Mourinho\u2019s former club Manchester United<\/a>. Having already lost to United in the reverse fixture<\/a>, Mourinho will be hoping to seek revenge; kicking off the return with a win to end his side\u2019s dreary run of form.<\/p>\n
