Watford<\/a> captain Troy Deeney<\/a> will return back to training after holding government talks which went well.<\/p>\n

Troy Deeney Will Return To Training After Positive Government Talks<\/h2>\n

Deeney’s Good Conversation With The Government’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer<\/h3>\n

Deeney had refused to go back to training since Project Restart has commenced due to his son’s health,<\/a> but has decided to rejoin his team-mates next week.<\/p>\n

The Watford captain has spoken about the great conversation that he had with the Deputy Chief Medical Officer.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Jonathan is doing really well, again, not only answering questions. He has also been honest enough to say at times: ‘I don’t have the answer’.<\/p>\n

“The first conversation I had with Jonathan was maybe three weeks ago. The last conversation we had was on Friday and he had so much more information, so much more detailed analysis.<\/p>\n

“So it just filled me with confidence that he’s trying his best to make sure that we have all the information. The risk factor will be down to players.”<\/p>\n

Mass Testing<\/h3>\n

The third round of testing commenced and concluded that there were four more positive tests<\/a> from three Premier League<\/a> clubs.<\/p>\n

There were 1,008 tests carried out on Monday and Tuesday. The fourth round will take place on Thursday and Friday, with up to 60 people from each club to be tested.<\/p>\n

Contact training is set to return next week with Project Restart moving into the higher gear with more test available.<\/p>\n

If there is no spike in positive tests, with fewer negative results over more tests, it will give the authorities, and clubs, the confidence that it will be safe to resume competitive games next month.<\/p>\n

As a result, we could potentially see Premier League football return as early as June 1.<\/p>\n
