The deal for Manchester United<\/a> to sign Jadon Sancho<\/a> hinges on whether they qualify for the Champions League or not, according to Simon Mullock of the Daily Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Jadon Sancho Deal Hinges on One Factor<\/h2>\n

United\u2019s Battle for the Champions League<\/h3>\n

Manchester United have been battling for qualification for the most prestigious club competition in Europe since the start of the season, having gained entry just twice since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.<\/p>\n

The suspension of football saw the Red Devils just three points away from fourth placed Chelsea<\/a>. They were on an 11 game unbeaten run, but stopping football for so long will be a blow to that. Despite this, their run in looks to be the easiest of their competition, with just Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> of the traditional \u201cbig six\u201d left to face.<\/p>\n

With Bruno Fernandes<\/a> in their midst, United look a force to be reckoned with. They beat Manchester City<\/a> in their last Premier League<\/a> game before the Coronavirus pandemic struck football, and Fernandes\u2019 impact was ultimately what caused their good run of form, which started on his debut.<\/p>\n

United stand a good chance at qualification without help from elsewhere, but should Manchester City\u2019s Champions League ban be upheld, things would be far easier for the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Why United Need to Qualify for Their Jadon Sancho Deal<\/h3>\n

Qualification for the competition may be what the Manchester side need to get Sancho to the club.<\/p>\n

As United have seen<\/a> a dramatic 42% increase in their debt recently, a \u00a350 million boost of Champions League qualification would be immeasurably large if they want to secure a deal for Sancho. Borussia Dortmund are still holding out<\/a> for a large sum of money, somewhere over \u00a3100 million.<\/p>\n

Moreover, to increase the lure of a move to Manchester, qualification for the competition would greatly help. Sancho has been playing Champions League football for the past two years at Dortmund, and will hope to continue that with United.<\/p>\n
