Derby County are unlikely to reignite their interest in Bournemouth<\/a> winger Jordon Ibe<\/a> this summer, according to Steve Nicholson of Derbyshire Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Winger Will Become a Free Agent This Summer<\/h3>\n

The 24-year-old is likely<\/a> to\u00a0leave the Vitality Stadium this summer after four seasons with the Cherries.<\/p>\n

Ibe is one of the many Premier League players who have seen their contract situations complicated by the Coronavirus pandemic. His Bournemouth contract expires on June 30, but he is unlikely to sign a short-term extension through to the end of the season.<\/p>\n

As a result, he will become a free agent this summer. The winger has made just four appearances this season for Eddie Howe’s side, producing no goals or assists. His form this season replicates the struggles he has faced since moving to the south coast, as he has failed to live up to his \u00a315 million price-tag.<\/p>\n

Previous Interest Will Not be Renewed<\/h3>\n

Derby County had explored the option of signing Jodon Ibe on loan last summer. However, according to Derbyshire Live, that interest will not be renewed.<\/p>\n

The report suggests that his wages will be too demanding for the Rams, whose 2019\/20 season has been marred by speculation over their finances.<\/p>\n

The former Liverpool<\/a> winger joined the Rams on loan for the 2014\/15 season; he made 24 appearances, scoring five times.<\/p>\n

Ibe was viewed as one player who could fill the void of Harry Wilson<\/a> at Pride Park. However, a move never materialised.<\/p>\n

Phillip Cocu is likely to look for reinforcements out wide this summer. At times this season he has had to fill the flanks with players out of position. Top scorer Martyn Waghorn<\/a> has operated predominantly from out wide this season, while Florian Jozefzoon<\/a> has not lived up to the standards expected of him at Pride Park.<\/p>\n
