Robert Lewandowski<\/a> has urged<\/a> Erling Haaland<\/a> to avoid Manchester United<\/a> and Real Madrid<\/a> transfers, and instead to continue his development at Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski has urged Haaland to avoid a move to Manchester United or Real Madrid despite both being strongly interested, but instead to continue his development at Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n

“He has huge potential, but still has time. I don\u2019t want to put any pressure on him with my statements,” he told reporters.<\/a><\/p>\n

“If he works hard, he can become a better player and eventually reach the top level.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, it might be good for him if he would stay in the Bundesliga longer before taking the next step.”<\/p>\n

Staying at Dortmund might be the best career choice for Haaland, with the German outfit having turned out many talented youngsters including, most recently, Jadon Sancho<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many Clubs Interested in Haaland<\/h3>\n

Elite interest in Haaland started<\/a> at the beginning of this season, as he lit up both the Austrian Bundesliga and the Champions League<\/a>. He scored 16 goals in 14 games in the former, while the latter saw him net eight times in just six appearances, only four of which were starts.<\/p>\n

With that, there was a scrap for his signature in the run-up to the January transfer window. While United seemed<\/a> to be in pole position for much of the race, the personal connection of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a> to his Norwegian target just one of the many factors which got them there, Borussia Dortmund were able to beat them out to sign the wonderkid.<\/p>\n

Since the move to Germany\u2019s first division, Haaland has not disappointed. Despite the increased quality of the league and high expectations of the fans, the 19-year-old dazzled everyone on his debut, coming off the bench to score a hat-trick in a 5-3 thriller of a win over FC Augsburg. He has continued to score, too, with nine goals from eight Bundesliga<\/a> matches.<\/p>\n
