{"id":551571,"date":"2020-05-14T14:53:08","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T18:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/?p=551571"},"modified":"2020-05-14T15:59:12","modified_gmt":"2020-05-14T19:59:12","slug":"coronavirus-league-one-clubs-ppg-table","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/05\/14\/coronavirus-league-one-clubs-ppg-table\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus: Six League One Rivals Declare &#8216;No Desire&#8217; for PPG Table"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A number of <a href=\"\/tag\/league-one\/\" target=\"_self\">League One<\/a> clubs have publically expressed their demand for the season to be fully completed.<\/p>\n<h2>League One Rivals Declare &#8220;No Desire&#8221; for PPG Table<\/h2>\n<h3>Six Clubs Demand League&#8217;s Completion<\/h3>\n<p>Owners at six League One clubs have called for the EFL to complete the current season.<\/p>\n<p>The teams include <a href=\"\/tag\/fleetwood-town\/\" target=\"_self\">Fleetwood Town<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/clubs\/sunderland\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sunderland<\/a>, <a href=\"\/tag\/portsmouth\/\" target=\"_self\">Portsmouth<\/a>, <a href=\"\/tag\/peterborough-united\/\" target=\"_self\">Peterborough United<\/a> and <a href=\"\/tag\/ipswich-town\/\" target=\"_self\">Ipswich Town<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/tag\/oxford-united\/\" target=\"_self\">Oxford United<\/a>, who would be promoted if a weighted points-per-game (PPG) system was used, have also backed the motion.<\/p>\n<p>In a series of Tweets, Posh owner Darragh MacAnthony said there is a collective agreement to finish the season among clubs.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;I have been asked to relay this message on behalf of Oxford United, Fleetwood Town, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Peterborough United to the EFL &amp; the media ahead of the our Sky Bet League One meeting tomorrow morning [sic].<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We as a collective are United in our goal to finish this season. We have no desire for voiding the season, PPG scenario\u2019s\/letting a computer decide our footballing fate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For our fans\/staff &amp; for the integrity of our sport we are all looking forward to completing our pending &#8211; Fixtures\/season under guidance from the EFL at a time it is deemed safe to do so.
