Arsenal<\/a> and Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> will rival each other for the signing of Feyenoord<\/a> teenager Lamare Bogarde, according to reports from Wayne Veysey of Football Insider.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 16-year-old defensive midfielder put in a number of impressive displays for Feyenoord’s youth teams this season. This raised interest from the Premier League rivals.<\/p>\n

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur After Lamare Bogarde<\/h2>\n

Highly Rated Teenager<\/h3>\n

Bogarde played 19 matches for Feyenoord’s U17 team this season. The talented 16-year-old’s consistency earned him a call-up to the Dutch U16 squad, where he made two appearances.<\/p>\n

Many top-European clubs scouted Bogarde earlier this season. In addition to Arsenal and Spurs, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Juventus, and AC Milan continue to monitor<\/a> his development.<\/p>\n

Bogarde’s future remains in doubt<\/a> with the Rotterdam-based club due to the growing interest in the future prospect.<\/p>\n

Arsenal Winning the Race<\/h3>\n

Despite the rival interest surrounding Bogarde, Arsenal’s scouts highlighted the quality<\/a> of the teenager whilst watching him at the youth level.<\/p>\n

Reports also suggest that Arsenal want to beat their north London rivals<\/a> to the signing of Bogarde this summer.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta<\/a> wants to bring in fresh talent to improve his Arsenal squad for next season. Bogarde may not be the immediate answer to the Gunners’ problems, but it appears the club hope the Spanish coach can improve younger players<\/a> with sights set on the future of the team.<\/p>\n

A Cheaper Option for Spurs<\/h3>\n

Spurs may need to turn their attention to younger and more affordable players this summer.<\/p>\n

The club continue to suffer financially due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic recently. This gives Jose Mourinho limited transfer funds<\/a> to work with this summer and the club recently suspended their recruitment activity to cut costs.<\/p>\n

There will be little room for transfer activity at the north London club, but they may be able to negotiate a cheaper option for Bogarde.<\/p>\n
