It comes as no surprise to see Manchester City<\/a>, Arsenal<\/a> and\u00a0Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> all targeting defensive reinforcements this summer after enduring disappointing seasons at the back. Several players have been linked with each respective club so far with Dayot Upamecano<\/a> at the forefront of the options presented. The current RB\u00a0Leipzig<\/a> man, however, is in high demand from the very best clubs around Europe which could see the defender reject the Premier League in favour of a move to the Spanish capital.<\/p>\n

Real Madrid in Pole Position to Sign the Frenchman<\/h3>\n

According to the Mirror<\/a>, Real Madrid<\/a> are primed and ready to make a move for the 21-year-old in the summer. The move would see the Frenchman join forces with his fellow countryman in Raphael Varane<\/a> to form one of the best partnerships in Europe. And the move makes perfect sense for Madrid, who would be replacing the old with the new by swapping Upamecano for Sergio Ramos<\/a> for the price of \u00a350 million, a price that may prove to be cheap in five years.<\/p>\n

The Leipzig defender has already proven his ability to play at the highest of levels with his recent performance against Spurs a prime example of the Frenchman’s dominance. Upamecano was simply unstoppable as Leipzig knocked Jose Mourinho’s side out of the Champions League<\/a>. The performance highlighted that despite only being 21, Upamecano is ready for the big time.<\/p>\n

Special Move for a Special Talent<\/h3>\n

The Frenchman stated recently when questioned about his summer plans: “I will speak well with my agents and my parents at the end of the season. And will make the right decision.”<\/p>\n

Either way, whether it’s in the Premier League<\/a> or La Liga<\/a>, Upamecano looks set to announce himself as one of the best defenders around after being linked with the very best around Europe. Leipzig, the team at the opposite end of a potential deal, would be making a profit of \u00a341 million after signing the Frenchman for the small price of \u00a39 million just two years ago.<\/p>\n
