One aspect of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a>\u2019s reign at Manchester United<\/a> with which he has become synonymous is offloading \u2018deadwood\u2019. Of the 12 players he has either sold or loaned out, not one has appeared a mistake, with Ander Herrera<\/a> the only player they have missed. On a permanent basis, Solskjaer let Romelu Lukaku<\/a>, Matteo Darmian<\/a>, Antonio Valencia<\/a>, Ashley Young<\/a>, James Wilson<\/a>, and Herrera go while many, both young and old left, on loan. Chris Smalling<\/a> has been one of his biggest success stories, with the Englishman having driven his market value higher for when the Red Devils choose to sell him, and United will look to emulate this in the summer, with multiple players now surplus to requirements, according to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Five Players Manchester United Will Try to Sell in the Summer<\/h2>\n

Andreas Pereira<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 Failure After a Promising breakthrough Season<\/h3>\n

One of the most disliked players at Old Trafford, Solskjaer will try to show Andreas Pereira the door this summer.<\/p>\n

While the Brazilian looked full of promise last season, this campaign has been quite the contrast.<\/p>\n

Its opening saw him form a woeful partnership with compatriot Fred<\/a>, who is now a contender for their player of the season<\/a>, and since then he has tried his hand in attacking midfield and right-wing.<\/p>\n

However, none of these have worked out for him, and it seems as though the Red Devils will try to sell Pereira as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old no longer even makes matchday squads, with Bruno Fernandes<\/a> having kicked him out of the team, and is by no means a necessity at the Theatre of Dreams.<\/p>\n

Jesse Lingard<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 A Lost Talent<\/h3>\n

The seemingly ever-young Jesse Lingard is another player who is infamous at United.<\/p>\n

The Englishman has been an inconsistent feature in their team for the past few years, but the Red Devils seem to have finally deemed it time for him to leave.<\/p>\n

Lingard was one of their most promising talents for a number of years but has not lived up to the expectations. He has failed to score a single Premier League<\/a> goal since December of 2018, and they have not come regularly outside of the competition either.<\/p>\n

Moreover, game-time for the 27-year-old this season has been hard to come by, and it seems as though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will attempt to sell him in the summer, with both Arsenal<\/a> and Everton<\/a> interested<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Phil Jones<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 Not Living up to Legendary Backing<\/h3>\n

Another player subject to much torment at Old Trafford, Phil Jones also disappointed, having shown much promise.<\/p>\n

The Englishman was once tipped<\/a> by Sir Alex Ferguson to be the greatest player Manchester United had ever seen, but that is worlds away from the truth. Struggling to establish a place in the starting team, Jones inexplicably signed a new contract in Manchester just over a year ago.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils will, however, try to offload him in the summer, with Newcastle United<\/a> among the less successful English sides looking for<\/a> a player of his experience.<\/p>\n

Alexis Sanchez<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 The Most Important for Manchester United to Sell<\/h3>\n

\u00a3500,000 per week for Alexis Sanchez. It seems like Manchester United might be over-paying a touch.<\/p>\n

The Chilean joined from Arsenal in January 2018 following many a successful campaign there. Despite his past successes in the English top-flight, Sanchez has greatly disappointed since moving to Manchester and has been on loan since the start of the season.<\/p>\n

Having been equally underwhelming in Italy, though, Sanchez will return to United with the Red Devils desperate to get him off their wage bill. While West Ham<\/a> and multiple German teams would like to see him<\/a> join their clubs, he is reportedly<\/a> unwilling to take a wage cut, so agreeing to personal terms with the 31-year-old may be a struggle for anyone interest.<\/p>\n

Chris Smalling \u2014 Best on the List<\/h3>\n

Chris Smalling does not deserve to be affiliated with the players above him on this list. The Englishman has had a fantastic season on loan with Roma in Serie A<\/a> and has not been particularly awful for United either. Although his career has had ups and downs, he is miles better than the likes of Jones and Pereira.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Solskjaer will look to sell him this summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both looking<\/a> to add him to their roster. United want in the region of \u00a325 million for him, meaning that they could turn a serious profit, with transfers for Jude Bellingham<\/a>, Jadon Sancho<\/a>, and Jack Grealish<\/a> looking rather pricey.<\/p>\n
