Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> reminded their players to respect the social distancing advice from the government in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The club’s message responds to separate images and videos which emerged yesterday. Key players and staff from the club ignored the measures that are in place in the UK.<\/p>\n

Staff Ignoring Social Distancing<\/h3>\n

An image<\/a> on social media yesterday showed manager Jose Mourinho meeting with Tanguy Ndombele<\/a> on Hadley Common, north London. Mourinho reportedly held a training session with midfielder Ndombele.<\/p>\n

Pictures of defenders Ryan Sessegnon<\/a> and Davinson Sanchez<\/a> show the pair jogging closely alongside each other<\/a> at the same common yesterday.<\/p>\n

In a separate incident, defender Serge Aurier<\/a> posted an Instagram video of himself jogging alongside another person.<\/p>\n

Club’s Reminder to Players<\/h3>\n

In reaction to the breaches of government advice yesterday, Spurs issued a clear message to the club’s playing staff.<\/p>\n

They reiterate the importance of following the social distancing guidelines while in lockdown.<\/p>\n

A club spokesperson said<\/a>: \u201cAll of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shall continue to reinforce this message.\u201d<\/p>\n

Government Advice<\/h3>\n

The Premier League is currently suspended to help slow the spread of coronavirus through large gatherings in public spaces.<\/p>\n

Many of the top-flight clubs asked players to follow individual training programmes at home<\/a> with the league suspended indefinitely.<\/p>\n

The government’s advice on social distancing, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, says people should remain at least two metres away from others at all times.<\/p>\n

They also advise not to leave home unless absolutely necessary, for food or medicine or for brief exercise once per day.<\/p>\n

People are not to meet friends or family and can only leave the home with people they live with or in groups of two.<\/p>\n
