The asking price for Paul Pogba<\/a>\u00a0set by Manchester United<\/a> could be slashed, according to Marcus Banks of the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Could Get Half of Their Paul Pogba Asking Price<\/h2>\n

Paul Pogba\u2019s Manchester United Career<\/h3>\n

Paul Pogba has been a rather controversial figure at Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman left United in the summer of 2012 after his contract ran out and Juventus<\/a> snapped him up. He rose through Juve\u2019s ranks as a promising youngster and became one of the best midfielders in the world while playing there. He won the Serie A<\/a> with the Black and Whites in all of his four seasons and even helped them to a Champions League<\/a> final, which they lost to Barcelona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2016, many clubs wanted<\/a> to buy the Frenchman, however former club Manchester United won the race and signed him for a then world-record fee of \u00a389 million.<\/p>\n

Upon joining, fans expected Pogba to have an immediate impact on the team, making them title contenders, however that was not the case. He has not lived up to the price tag placed on his head when he rejoined the Red Devils, having struggled with injuries and form. Last season, he scored 13 goals and assisted nine times, and had been playing tremendously well since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a>\u2019s appointment as permanent manager there. He would have looked to continue that this campaign, but has suffered from a recurring ankle injury, appearing just eight times in all competitions.<\/p>\n

Coronavirus Hitting the Financial Side of Football<\/h3>\n

The Coronavirus has hit football hard in many ways, not least financially. Although those in the lower leagues will have more monetary struggles in the coming months, it will also be difficult for the European powerhouses as well, and this could impact how much money the Red Devils get from selling Pogba. According to CIES<\/a>, United\u2019s want-away midfielder could have his value slashed almost in half. Due to his age, contract situation, lack of game-time and the Coronavirus pandemic currently plummeting the world into uncertain times, his value could decrease from \u20ac65 million to just \u20ac35 million.<\/p>\n
