Manchester United<\/a> have reignited their interest in Edinson Cavani<\/a>, according to Naveen Ullal of Sports Witness<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Reignite Interest in Edinson Cavani<\/h2>\n

January Intrigue<\/h3>\n

Manchester United reportedly<\/a> wanted to sign Cavani in January.<\/p>\n

With a host of strikers<\/a> on their shortlist as a short term replacement for goal-scorer Marcus Rashford<\/a>, they ended up signing Odion Ighalo<\/a> on loan from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.<\/p>\n

Although this move was laughable at the time, it has paid off very successfully, with the Red Devils now considering<\/a> a \u00a315 million permanent transfer for the former Watford<\/a> man. Despite this, a transfer for Cavani may happen in the summer, with his contract running out.<\/p>\n

Interest in Edinson Cavani for the Summer<\/h3>\n

United are now considering a move for Cavani in the summer. The Uruguayan\u2019s contract runs out at the end of the season, and with it seeming that he will be up for grabs on a free transfer after the 30th of June, the Red Devils will be one of the sides most closely monitoring his movements.<\/p>\n

United Need a Striker<\/h3>\n

As Barcelona<\/a> are closer than ever before to signing Inter Milan star striker Lautaro Martinez<\/a>, according to Mundo Deportivo<\/a> of Spain, the Italian giants will look for a replacement. Anthony Martial<\/a> seems to be high up on their list.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman has been very impressive for United this season, earning him interest from Italy. It would give him the opportunity to play alongside former team-mate Romelu Lukaku<\/a>, and become Antonio Conte<\/a>\u2019s third signing from Manchester United in his time at Inter, with permanent transfers of Lukaku and Ashley Young<\/a>, and a loan move for Alexis Sanchez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Should the Black and Blues\u2019 offer tempt Martial away from Old Trafford, the Red Devils would search for a replacement. Cavani would be one of the preferred options, with a clear record for scoring goals, and the ability to fill in while youngster Mason Greenwood<\/a> can acclimatize himself to life in the first-team.<\/p>\n
