The Nigerian striker is currently on loan from Chinese club <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/2019\/07\/08\/stephan-el-shaarawy-shanghai-shenhua\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shanghai Shenhua<\/a> until May.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Red Devils want to extend his short term loan deal until June and then offer a fee to sign the striker permanently according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/football\/article-8144257\/Man-United-sign-Odion-Ighalo-15m-summer-strikers-loan-deal-set-expire-May.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Simon Jones from the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>REPORT: Odion Ighalo set for Permanent Manchester United Move<\/h2>\n<h3>Permanent Deal for Ighalo?<\/h3>\n<p>United boss <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/65cb97b8\/Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a> is ready to spend \u00a315 million to sign Ighalo permanently.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old striker hit the ground running at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in just three starts since his January move.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer could be a coup for United, who look to bolster their attacking options over the summer.<\/p>\n<h3>Impressive Start at Manchester United<\/h3>\n<p>Odion Ighalo was signed as a short term option for United due to a lack of options in attack.<\/p>\n<p>However, it appears that the Nigerian has impressed during his loan spell, prompting Solskjaer to bring Ighalo to the club as a permanent option upfront.<\/p>\n<p>The United boss said, as reported in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/sport\/football\/transfer-news\/man-utd-to-seal-permanent-21742666\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mirror<\/a>: &#8220;He has qualities we saw in him that we needed. And we will still need those qualities next season \u2014 so let\u2019s see what we will do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Frenchman <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/8b788c01\/Anthony-Martial?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Martial<\/a> was the only other senior striker in the squad in January.\u00a0 First choice striker <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/a1d5bd30\/Marcus-Rashford?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Rashford<\/a> was ruled out in January with a stress fracture in his back.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Dream Move for the Nigerian<\/h3>\n<p>The former Watford striker highlighted his loan move to United as &#8216;a dream come true&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/watch\/video\/sports\/football\/11924605\/spb-ooyala-ighalo-webmxf\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">when speaking to Sky Sports<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n<p>He took a pay cut to join the Red Devils as United are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/football\/article-8144257\/Man-United-sign-Odion-Ighalo-15m-summer-strikers-loan-deal-set-expire-May.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly paying \u00a3130,000 of his \u00a3300,000 per week wages<\/a> he was on in China.
