Furthermore, he is apparently the only Chinese Super League player to have contracted the virus so far.<\/p>\n<p>The coronavirus pandemic has swept the world, and many high profile football players contracting the virus. Serie A has the most cases in Europe, with players such as <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/2020\/03\/21\/paulo-dybala-tests-positive-for-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paulo Dybala<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/2020\/03\/12\/manolo-gabbiadini-tests-positive-for-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manolo Gabbiadini<\/a> contracting COVID-19. Now, a CSL player has got the virus.<\/p>\n<h2>Former EPL Player Fellaini Tests Positive for COVID-19<\/h2>\n<h3>The Belgian Still in Good Condition<\/h3>\n<p>Fellaini said in a statement on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Fellaini\/status\/1241672003637121025\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>, &#8220;<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Dear friends, I have been tested for coronavirus and my test result is positive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">&#8220;Thanks to the fans, medical staff and the club for their care and attention. I will follow the treatment and hope to return to the game as soon as possible. Please, everyone, stay safe.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"css-1dbjc4n r-xoduu5 r-1mlwlqe r-1d2f490 r-1udh08x r-u8s1d r-h9hxbl r-417010\" aria-label=\"Red heart\">Reports from within China say Fellaini is in isolation at Jinan hospital, which specializes in infectious diseases.<\/div>\n<div aria-label=\"Red heart\"><\/div>\n<div aria-label=\"Red heart\">\n<p>Shandong Luneng also made a statement: &#8220;The official test confirmed that the player Fellaini has tested positive for coronavirus during the quarantine observation period.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During this period, the player&#8217;s body temperature has been normal and there are no other discomforts. He has received further observation and treatment at a designated medical institution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>His Time in China<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Belgian moved to Shandong Luneng from Manchester United in January 2019. He left after struggling for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.<\/p>\n<p>During his time at Old Trafford, Fellaini scored 22 goals in 177 appearances in all competitions for United.<\/p>\n<p>His first season in China ended in a fifth-place finish for Shandong Luneng. He played 22 times last season, scoring eight goals and grabbing three assists.<\/p>\n<p>This season, instead of playing at the 56,000-capacity Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium, he&#8217;s now isolated at Jinan Hospital.
