As football continues to undertake an enforced mid-season break due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it is time to reflect on times gone by. As a result, here are the last five Crystal Palace<\/a> results to happen on this day, March 22.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace On This Day<\/h2>\n

2013\/14 Season: Newcastle United 1-0 Crystal Palace<\/h3>\n

On this day six years ago, Palace thought they were facing a return to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League. A last-gasp Papiss Cisse<\/a> goal sealed a win for Newcastle United<\/a> in a dire game at St James’ Park.<\/p>\n

In a game largely dominated by the hosts, the Magpies squandered several chances before ultimately taking the three points. Palace, under the guidance of Tony Pulis, had just one shot on target.<\/p>\n

The defeat meant that Pulis’ side were without a win in five games and lied dangerously above the relegation zone heading into the final eight games. Relegation looked likely, but a run of five wins – conceding just twice – helped sealed survival.<\/p>\n

2007\/08: Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Crystal Palace<\/h3>\n

Neil Warnock’s side travelled to Hillsborough amid a five-game unbeaten run, aiming to mount a play-off push.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday thought they had the three points sealed as the game entered its final stages. The Owls were leading 2-1 thanks to goals from Ben Sahar<\/a> and Wade Small<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Palace equalised in the 94th minute thanks to an effort rifled at goal from Matt Lawrence<\/a> inside the penalty area.<\/p>\n

2002\/03: Crystal Palace 2-0 Walsall<\/h3>\n

Palace’s last victory on this day came in 2003. Goals from now-Sporting Director Dougie Freedman<\/a> and winger Wayne Routledge<\/a> sealed victory for the Eagles at Selhurst Park.<\/p>\n

1999\/00: Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Crystal Palace.<\/h3>\n

Clinton Morrison registered his 10th league goal of the season as Palace avenged a 6-0 defeat at Loftus Road the previous season.<\/p>\n

It was a season of struggle for the club, as they finished 15th in the First Division.<\/p>\n

1994\/95: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-4 Crystal Palace<\/h3>\n

On this day 25 years ago secured their place in the FA Cup semi-final after a quarter-final replay win against Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chris Armstrong opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through a superb overhead kick inside the six-yard box.<\/p>\n

That goal began a frantic five-minute spell. Wolves levelled just two minutes later, but Palace regained the lead in the 37th minute through Iain Dowie, whose powerful volley on the turn could not be stopped by Mike Stowell in the Wolves net.<\/p>\n

Darren Pitcher made it 3-1 on the verge of half-time through a superb volley from 35 yards out.<\/p>\n

Armstrong then rounded off the victory for the visitors at Molineux, finishing off a run into the box by firing a shot towards the top corner.<\/p>\n
