Manchester United<\/a> are in talks with Thomas Lemar<\/a>, according to Alex Dicken of the Manchester Evening News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United in Talks with Thomas Lemar<\/h2>\n

Close to Joining Liverpool and Arsenal<\/h3>\n

Lemar could finally get his Premier League<\/a> transfer after a Liverpool<\/a>-bound transfer never materialised.<\/p>\n

In the summer of 2017, came extremely close to joining both Liverpool and Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On deadline day, the two clubs were fighting to get his signature, with the Frenchman lined up as a replacement should players of their own depart. Arsenal had to sell Alexis Sanchez<\/a> to Manchester City<\/a>, while Philippe Coutinho<\/a>\u2019s departure from Liverpool would have prompted the Merseyside team into buying Monaco\u2019s attacker.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old wanted a move to England, with Liverpool his preferred option, however, as Arsenal refused to sell Sanchez to City without his arrival, and the Reds wouldn\u2019t match Monaco\u2019s \u00a392 million valuation, a move across the English Channel never happened.<\/p>\n

Disappointing For Atletico Madrid<\/h3>\n

Lemar has been extremely poor since his big-money move to Spain in 2018. He has scored just three goals in his 67 appearances there, and has certainly not lived up to a transfer fee of over \u00a350 million.<\/p>\n

Madrid manager Diego Simeone<\/a> admitted<\/a> in an interview that the 24-year-old \u201chasn\u2019t been able to live up to expectations\u201d. His poor stats speak for themselves. However, a Premier League move could be what he needs to put his previous deadline day drama behind him and focus on football.<\/p>\n

Manchester United in Talks with Thomas Lemar<\/h3>\n

Manchester United are now in talks with the Frenchman, according to reports. They join Arsenal, Chelsea<\/a> and Tottenham<\/a> in the race for his signature, however, they seem to be in the most advanced stage of negotiations.<\/p>\n

Should he join Manchester United, it is not certain where he would play. Marcus Rashford<\/a> has firmly established himself as the Red Devils\u2019 first choice left-winger, the position in which Lemar is most comfortable.<\/p>\n

Although he is able to play on the right of the attack, the Frenchman is much less experienced there, and based on his performances in La Liga<\/a>, he may not be able to fill that position regardless.<\/p>\n
