League Two side Bradford City have announced that the entire playing squad and staff have gone into self-isolation after one member developed symptoms of coronavirus.<\/p>\n
The “precautionary measure” comes after the FA ruled that every Premier League and EFL fixture be suspended until April.<\/p>\n
All academy training and matches were also put on hold until further notice.<\/p>\n
The Bantams said in a statement that an unnamed member of the coaching staff had been sent home after developing symptoms of Covid-19.<\/p>\n
Bradford City’s statement said:<\/a> “Players will each be provided with a GPS unit, enabling them to monitor their fitness levels in relation to a tailored training programme.<\/p>\n “This measure is designed to ensure Stuart McCall’s squad remains in peak physical condition upon its return to training.<\/p>\n “The Utilita Energy Stadium remains open and all departments will function as normal, in line with government guidelines.<\/p>\n “The National Health Service continues to advise members of the public to stay at home if you have either a high temperature or developed a new, continuous cough.”<\/p>\n There have already been a number of cases of coronavirus confirmed across the footballing world.<\/p>\n Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi became the first top-flight player to test positive<\/a> for the illness; Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta also went into self-isolating<\/a> after developing symptoms.<\/p>\n Everton’s squad joined those of Chelsea and Arsenal in entering self-isolation after one of their players showed symptoms.<\/p>\n Advice from Public Health England (PHE) has changed after the UK government switched to the ‘delay’ stage of their response.<\/p>\n PHE advise is as follows.
