Millwall host Derby County at the Den this Saturday; both sides look to keep what play-off<\/a> chances that they have alive.<\/p>\n

Millwall Play-Off Push: A Win Over Derby County Takes Them Into Top Six<\/h2>\n

Gary Rowett<\/a>, a former player and manager at the East Midlands side, will be hoping that his team, who currently sit eighth, can move into the top six with a win.<\/p>\n

Derby, meanwhile, will want to avoid the same fate that their rivals Nottingham Forest suffered; they were swept aside by the Lions in a convincing 3-0 defeat last Friday.<\/p>\n

The score line was the same as Derby, without captain Wayne Rooney<\/a> for the first time, dispatched play-off rivals Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.<\/p>\n

This fixture had the potential to be called off following the concern that some Millwall representatives made contact with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis who later tested positive for coronavirus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, as things stand, the game will go ahead as planned.<\/p>\n

Head-to-Head<\/h3>\n

The London-based club have enjoyed playing Derby in recent years, winning the last three encounters.<\/p>\n

The reverse fixture saw Millwall win 1-0 at Pride Park just before Christmas thanks to a Tom Bradshaw<\/a> goal.<\/p>\n

The Rams\u2019 last victory in Bermondsey came back in 2013 when a hat-trick from club legend Craig Bryson<\/a> helped them to a 5-1 win.<\/p>\n

Despite sitting just outside the play-offs, Rowett\u2019s men have not taken all three points from a match at home in almost two months – losing two and drawing three of their home encounters since.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Phillip Cocu<\/a>\u2019s side will be looking for back-to-back away wins for the first time this season and only a fourth away win in the league.<\/p>\n

Team News<\/h3>\n

Derby will hope that both Tom Lawrence<\/a> and Wayne Rooney will be available after sitting out last week\u2019s win but the Rams remain without midfielders Duane Holmes<\/a> and Tom Huddlestone<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The hosts appear to have no real selection issues ahead of the match that could see their opponents overtake them in the standings.<\/p>\n
