{"id":545555,"date":"2020-03-12T12:48:46","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T16:48:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/?p=545555"},"modified":"2020-03-12T12:48:46","modified_gmt":"2020-03-12T16:48:46","slug":"oxford-united-look-for-sixth-successive-win-against-mk-dons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/03\/12\/oxford-united-look-for-sixth-successive-win-against-mk-dons\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford United Look for Sixth Successive Win Against MK Dons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/search\/Oxford+united\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oxford United<\/a> will be looking to make it six successive league wins when they welcome relegation-threatened <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/search\/Mk+dons\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MK Dons<\/a> this weekend.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The U&#8217;s are fresh off the back of five impressive league wins &#8211; the first time they have achieved that run since 2008 &#8211; and will be searching for another three points to remain in the playoffs.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Oxford United Look for Sixth Successive Win Against MK Dons<\/h2>\n<h3>Impressive Run Rekindles Play-Off Ambitions<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The U&#8217;s moved up to third after their win at <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/match-report-league-one-shrewsbury-town-2-3-oxford-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shrewsbury<\/a> last time out and remained there after their <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/us-remain-3rd-after-tuesday-night-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">promotion rivals<\/a> failed to capitalise on their respective games in hand on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/oxford-duo-shortlisted-for-monthly-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matty Taylor<\/a>, who was nominated for Player of the Month earlier this week, is the clubs top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions, but didn&#8217;t net against the Shrews despite scoring seven in seven.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Manager <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/oxford-duo-shortlisted-for-monthly-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Karl Robinson<\/a>, who has also been shortlisted for Manager of the Month, can welcome back <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/woodburn-finally-set-to-return\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Woodburn<\/a> from his five-month spell on the sidelines, while <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/us-lose-trio-to-injury\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liam Kelly<\/a> made a return in a behind closed doors friendly during the week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Dons sit just five points clear of the drop after Tranmere win at Blackpool during the week, but Robinson&#8217;s former side <a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk\/match-report-league-one-mk-dons-1-0-oxford-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won the reverse fixture 1-0<\/a> &#8211; ending the U&#8217;s 18 game unbeaten run.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Dons&#8217; Key Men and Prediction<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonfootball.com\/2020\/03\/06\/rhys-healey-mk-dons-should-learn-from-past-mistakes-and-do-all-they-can-to-keep-striker\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rhys Healy<\/a> is the Dons&#8217; top scorer with 12, including six in his last eight games. Midfielder Alex Gilbey and forward Sam Nombe have both scored five for Russell Martins&#8217; side, while Kieran Agard and Joe Mason both have four respectively.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The two sides have only met six times, with there being two Oxford wins, for draws and two wins for MK Dons.
