Jose Mourinho has provided a positive injury update on Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>‘s attacking stars Harry Kane<\/a> and Son Heung-min<\/a>. Mourinho has hinted both could recover from injury to feature before the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Son sustained a fractured arm<\/a> against Aston Villa<\/a>\u00a0and underwent successful surgery, which was said to rule him out for \u2018several weeks\u2019<\/a>. Harry Kane\u2019s season was also plunged into doubt when he required surgery to repair a torn hamstring; a procedure that looked to rule him out for up to three months, jeopardising his EURO 2020 availability<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Positive Injury Update on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min<\/h2>\n

Harry Kane Ahead of Schedule<\/h3>\n

Since Kane\u2019s setback, Spurs have been short of attacking guidance and leadership from the front. Despite suffering a more long-term injury, Kane’s chances of earlier availability have been backed by Jose Mourinho in the latest update, according to the club\u2019s official website<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a little ahead of schedule,\u201d Mourinho said. \u201cIt gives me a hope of, instead of one or two matches, three, four or five.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know [when he will return]. Just speculating a little bit but the feelings are good. He\u2019s doing what he can do at this stage but always with a good feeling. Everything is going well, so yes, positive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mourinho also commented on Harry Kane’s relentless work-rate to get back on track but reassured that the club is managing the situation carefully.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time he has a problem, he\u2019s the kind of guy that doesn\u2019t accept protocols, a date, a fixture. He always tries to go ahead. He\u2019s the kind of guy that we have a very good control and communication with. Sometimes the players break protocol and come earlier than expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s obviously a great professional and a fighter and he wants to be back as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Son Heung-min Recovery on Track<\/h3>\n

Son travelled to Seoul, South Korea, as part of his surgery and rehabilitation for his arm fracture. Despite Mourinho previously hinting that Son would be set to miss the remainder of the season<\/a>, he has provided a more optimistic outlook on this occasion.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThat\u2019s another hope [to play again this season] but of course we\u2019re far from it. He\u2019s coming back to England very soon. Then, of course, he\u2019ll have to follow some safety protocols because he flies from Seoul.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen his recovery starts, we\u2019ll try all the possibilities to have him back for some matches. Again, I cannot imagine when. But there\u2019s a good possibility that before the end of the season, we have Harry and Sonny playing together.\u201d<\/p>\n
