KAA Gent talisman Jonathan David has been gaining a fair amount of interest after delivering impressive performances for the Belgians. According to Joe Brophy of The Sun<\/a>, up to seven clubs are interested in acquiring his services.<\/p>\n

What Makes Him Wanted?<\/h3>\n

Having scored 15 goals and recorded eight assists in 24 matches for Gent, Jonathan David is no doubt playing well. A daring striker, he is secondarily an attacking midfielder or second striker.<\/p>\n

Having played at international level with Canada, the striker is still only 20-years-old. His game shows maturity beyond its years and he isn’t afraid to take his chances. The Brooklyn-born attacker is also capable of using both his feet.<\/p>\n

The Interest<\/h3>\n

Amongst clubs that are interested in his signature are; Everton<\/a>, Arsenal<\/a>, Leicester City<\/a>, RB Leipzig, Napoli and S.S Lazio.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year Olympique Lyon were strong contenders to bring David in but had their chase come to a halt after strong words from Gent manager Miche Lowagie<\/a>. He stated that they were not looking to sell key players, and instead utilise them to win titles.<\/p>\n

Clubs would have to come up with \u00a318 million for David, which is a fairly low price considering today’s transfer market price inflation.<\/p>\n

Where Would Jonathan David Fit Best?<\/h3>\n

Olympique Lyon has had a good reputation for producing quality attackers from their ranks. Jonathan David would no doubt thrive under their guidance and take a crack at the Ligue 1<\/a> challenge.<\/p>\n

Arsenal will be facing a big exodus in the summer, with Mikel Arteta likely to change things around. This could set up a great chance for Jonathan David to prove his worth in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RB Leipzig’s policy of only signing players under the age of 23 means the Canadian fits their wishes. Their nurturing of Timo Werner and other young players will be an attraction to any young prospect looking for a foundation to a great career.<\/p>\n
