Reading<\/a> have signed winger Ayub Masika on loan from Beijing Renhe until the end of the season. He is the Royals\u2019 second January signing.<\/p>\n

The Deal<\/h2>\n

Reading announced via their website<\/a> they had signed the winger. Masika arrives on loan for the remainder of the season and becomes Mark Bowen\u2019s second January signing.<\/p>\n

Masika is a pacey, skilful winger who has been training with the club for several weeks. The winger began his career in Belgium with Anderlecht before joining Genk in 2012. He has been in China since 2017 but now will have his first taste of English football.<\/p>\n

The winger is ready to test himself and help Reading finish as high as they can in the Championship table. He will compete for a place on the Reading flanks.<\/p>\n

He has travelled with the squad for this evening\u2019s game at Cardiff City<\/a> but is not in the matchday squad.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Reading website about his new signing, manager Mark Bowen said<\/a>: \u201cMasika is a precocious talent with real speed that means he can hurt the opposition in good areas of the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had a look at him in training over recent weeks and he\u2019s shown good qualities. He\u2019s catching up on his fitness a little bit with the Chinese league being out of season at the moment, but I think he can be a real asset to us and I\u2019m delighted to have him here.”<\/p>\n

Chief Executive Nigel Howe added:<\/a> \u201cA quick winger with experience of international football and both the Belgian and Chinese top flight, I am very pleased to welcome Masika to the club. I wish him the very best of luck during his loan spell at Reading and look forward to seeing the impact he can make at first-team level.\u201d<\/p>\n
