Shrewsbury Town\u2019s<\/a> busy transfer window continues. The Shrews have signed goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne on a permanent deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shrewsbury Sign Goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne<\/h2>\n

The Deal<\/h3>\n

Shrewsbury announced via their website they had signed the keeper. Burgoyne arrives for an undisclosed fee, signing a short-term contract until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old is a Wolves academy product and spent 11 years with the club. He has spent time on loan at Barnet, AFC Telford United and Falkirk. Burgoyne will compete with Joe Murphy and Max O\u2019Leary for the number one spot at Shrewsbury.<\/p>\n

Burgoyne\u2019s arrival continues Shrewsbury\u2019s busy January window. Sam Ricketts is looking to strengthen his squad with the Shrews still in the promotion race. They sit 16th<\/sup> in League One and they do have games in hand on their rivals.<\/p>\n

He could make his debut against Rochdale tomorrow as Shrewsbury search for a first league win in 2020.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Shrewsbury website about his new signing, manager Sam Ricketts said:<\/a> \u201cHe\u2019s a young goalkeeper who really shot up the ranks at Wolves. He got into the first team and did very, very well.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s found opportunities hard to come by in the last year or so. He has been out and played some games on loan at a few different places. He\u2019s one we are pleased to have in and it gives us both an opportunity to have a look at each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has a great personality and drive to be successful and that\u2019s what we want. He\u2019s a young player with potential. He adds to the squad and allows flexibility in that area.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s played games, he\u2019s a good young goalkeeper and is someone we are delighted to have through the door.\u201d<\/p>\n
