Sunderland<\/a> manager Phil Parkinson\u2019s patience has paid off after Antoine Semenyo signed today. Parkinson has been keen to bring in the youngster since before the transfer window opened. However, Bristol City<\/a> were waiting for their own deals to come off before allowing players to leave. Semenyo has moved to Wearside on loan for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Semenyo becomes the second player to make the switch from City to Sunderland<\/a> this transfer window. Defender Bailey Wright<\/a> joined the Black Cats last week, making his debut in the recent win at Tranmere Rovers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking early in this month, Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson said<\/a>: \u201cHe is a player we have looked at. He has pace and power, and he\u2019s someone we have been monitoring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both clubs had been in talks for weeks over a deal; however, City did not want to lose the youngster unless reinforcements were brought in. Due to Nahki Wells<\/a> moving to Ashton Gate, the green light was given for Semenyo to move to the Stadium of Light.<\/p>\n

Manager Phil Parkinson added<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m pleased we have been able to bring Antoine to the club. He\u2019s got pace and power which are qualities we highlighted and wanted to add to the squad.<\/p>\n

Player History<\/h3>\n

Semenyo, 20, has been with Bristol City<\/a> his entire career; however, the striker has had two spells away from Ashton Gate on loan. A short time on loan at Bath City produced three goals. Another loan, this time at Newport County, caught the eye of many. Although he scored just six goals, his performances did not go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

Semenyo has found his chances at City limited and this loan deal will give the youngster the chance to prove he has what it takes to succeed.<\/p>\n
