Doncaster Rovers<\/a> have signed striker Fejiri Okenabirhie. The striker arrives for an undisclosed fee from league rivals Shrewsbury Town<\/a> becoming Doncaster\u2019s second January signing.<\/p>\n

The Deal<\/h3>\n

Doncaster announced via their website<\/a> they had signed the striker. Okenabirhie arrives for an undisclosed fee signing a two-and-half-year contract at the Keepmoat Stadium.<\/p>\n

Okenabirhie began his career in non-league football before joining Shrewsbury in 2018. He finished as the Shrews’ top scorer last season but has found game time limited this season.<\/p>\n

Darren Moore has been looking to boost his attacking options in January and Okenabirhie has certainly shown he can score goals. Okenabirhie follows Devante Cole<\/a> in joining Doncaster this window.<\/p>\n

They are in the promotion race and find themselves just four points off the play-off places, but Moore\u2019s team have plenty of games in hand on their rivals.<\/p>\n

The striker is eligible to make his debut this weekend when Doncaster travel to Highbury Stadium to face Fleetwood Town<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Doncaster website about his move, Okenabirhie said<\/a>: \u201cI spoke to the manager about his ideas and how he saw me fitting in, there\u2019s something he\u2019s building here that I wanted to be a part of.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me about how he wants to play, I\u2019ve seen Rovers as well this season and the style of play suits me. Hopefully I can get some goals to help the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to contribute to a team that are already doing well, adding my attributes to the squad. We\u2019re just outside the play-offs and hopefully, we want to break into the top six.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like scoring goals, finishing is my best attribute so hopefully I can get a few while I\u2019m here – I like scoring goals. I did that for a season-and-a-half at Shrewsbury, I\u2019m ready to do the same thing here.\u201d<\/p>\n
