Marcos Rojo<\/a> has left Manchester United<\/a> to join former club Estudiantes<\/a> on loan for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

Marcos Rojo Joins Estudiantes on Loan From Manchester United<\/span><\/p>\n

History With the Club<\/h3>\n

Rojo joined Manchester United<\/a> in the summer of 2014 as part of Louis Van Gaal<\/a>\u2019s first batch of signings. The 29-year-old joined United in the same window as the likes of Angel Di Maria<\/a> and Ander Herrera<\/a>, but he is one of just two of the signings made in that window who still remain at the club. While Luke Shaw<\/a>, the other still playing in Manchester, has been more successful recently, they are equal on appearances, with Shaw having struggled to get consistent game time until last season.<\/p>\n

Inconsistent Game Time<\/h3>\n

The Argentine featured prominently in his first few seasons at Old Trafford. However, he has recently fallen out of favour. This season, Rojo has just nine appearances and 29 appearances in his last three campaigns with United. He played regularly in his earlier seasons with the Red Devils, but with the defence having strengthened slowly in his time there, and now with two established centre backs, Rojo struggles to get a look in.<\/p>\n

Looking to Revive his Career<\/h3>\n

Marcos Rojo has struggled of late. Despite this, he will look at the successful loan move<\/a> of team-mate Chris Smalling<\/a> for inspiration. The Englishman moved to Roma<\/a> on a one year loan in the summer. Since then, he has been one of their best performing players. Smalling got three direct goal involvements in four games at one point this season and has been a consistent starter in Rome. He may return to United with drastically increased game time next season having shown his worth elsewhere. Rojo will look to do this, as well as getting his place in the Argentinian national team back.<\/p>\n
