Tranmere Rovers fans have reacted on Twitter following their humbling FA Cup defeat to Manchester United<\/a> at Prenton Park.<\/p>\n

‘One Better Than Last Year’<\/h3>\n

Manchester United score five times in a rampant first half performance to set the heavy tone at Prenton Park.<\/p>\n

Harry Maguire opened the scoring on ten minutes with an emphatic finish from 20 yards; goals from Diogo Dalot and Jesse Lingard ensured the Red Devils had a healthy lead after just 16 minutes.<\/p>\n

Phil Jones and Anthony Martial were also on-target in the first half before teenager Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot after the break,<\/p>\n

Prenton Park was only confirmed as the host of Manchester United in the fifth round after an extra-time win over Watford on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The Whites’ busy League One schedule, along with hosting Liverpool’s women’s team, led to difficult conditions in Birkenhead.<\/p>\n

One strip down the touchline in front of the dug-outs proved to be a treacherous zone; the pitch appeared a mixed form of part sand, part mud and part grass.<\/p>\n

Despite the poor conditions on-the-field, and a difficult scoreline to swallow, Rovers fans had plenty to praise their team for.<\/p>\n
