Morecambe have confirmed that they have signed defender Christian Mbulu<\/a> on a deal until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Vital Game Time<\/h3>\n

Speaking about his arrival at the Globe Arena to the official Morecambe website<\/a>, Mbulu said: “I’m delighted to get it over the line, for me now it’s just about getting in the team and getting some game time.<\/p>\n

“Really the side has been on the up recently, getting some decent results and hopefully we can push on and get up the table.<\/p>\n

“I only live down the road, which makes it easy to concentrate on football. I can stay behind and do extra when I need to with no problems at all.<\/p>\n

“Crewe were doing well but the main thing for a player is to play so when you’re not playing all the time it’s frustrating.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t get the game time I wanted and the Gaffer here was willing to offer me that so it’s a good move for me.”<\/p>\n

Helping the Relegation Fight<\/h3>\n

The 23-year-old will be hoping that he can regular appearances with Morecambe, and help steer them away from the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

He made seven appearances for Crewe Alexandra – whom he joins from – during the first half of the 2019\/20 campaign.<\/p>\n

While Crewe currently sit in 3rd place in League Two and are battling for promotion, Derek Adams Morecambe side are 24th in the table, occupying the only relegation spot.<\/p>\n

The Shrimpers will be hoping that they can bounce back from a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Northampton Town at home to Cambridge United in their next game. The U’s are in a bad run of form themselves, with just one in their last seven games, coincidentally in the reverse of this fixture.<\/p>\n

Mbulu is the Shrimpers<\/a> seventh signing of the window.<\/p>\n
