Walsall<\/a> have made their first January signing. The Saddlers have signed winger Jack Nolan on a permanent deal from Reading<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Walsall announced via their website they had signed the young winger. Nolan arrives for an undisclosed fee and becomes the Saddlers\u2019 first signing of the window.<\/p>\n

Darrell Clarke has been looking for wide players to boost Walsall\u2019s attack and he will be hoping the 18-year-old can give Walsall so much needed creativity in the final third.<\/p>\n

Nolan could make his debut this weekend when Walsall welcome Crawley Town to the Banks\u2019 Stadium.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the Walsall website<\/a> about his move, Nolan said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to be here. I can\u2019t wait to get going with the team and hopefully get some first-team action.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my first time in the football league so I am really looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings have moved very quickly from when Darrell first made contact with Reading and this is a great opportunity for myself and hopefully I can bring a lot to Walsall Football Club whilst I\u2019m here.<\/p>\n

\u201cDarrell said to me that it was a great opportunity for me to come and hopefully get some games in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously there is a lot of hard work ahead because I am still so young. The conversation I had with Darrell made my mind up that Walsall was the place for me to come to.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim for me is to make my professional league debut but the biggest thing for me is adapting to league football. I have only been with the U23s at Reading, so I am really looking forward to getting going.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a winger who predominantly likes to play on the right. I like to cut inside and try and score and create goals for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to try and be a real attacking threat against the opposition when I\u2019m playing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Darrell Clarke Delighted with His First January Signing<\/h3>\n

The Walsall manager is delighted to have his new signing on board. He said<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased to add Jack to the squad,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have watched him closely over a period of time and we like the potential of the lad.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe fits into the project of a left-footed wide player that we\u2019ve been after. He is still a young lad and he\u2019s going to need a bit of time to bed in but I\u2019m looking forward to working with him and building a decent youthful side mixed with some experienced players.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been capped by England at U17 level so he\u2019s got good pedigree and we\u2019re delighted to have him on board.\u201d<\/p>\n
