Salford City winger Tom Walker<\/a> has dropped down a division to join Vanarama National League side AFC Fylde.<\/p>\n

Experienced Winger<\/h3>\n

Despite only being 24-years old, Walker already has a wealth of experience under his belt.<\/p>\n

Beginning his career at Bolton Wanderers, Walker made 11 appearances during his first season at the University of Bolton Stadium.<\/p>\n

However, he then went out on loan to Bury – then of League One – making 11 appearances for the now extinct Shakers.<\/p>\n

On his return to Bolton at the end of the 2016-17 season the club released him.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old then had two short spells with non-league clubs Stockport County and FC United of Manchester; however, in January 2018 he then signed for the Ammies.<\/p>\n

Last season saw success for Tom Walker and Salford City<\/a>. He made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and helping them reach the Football League for the first time in their history.<\/p>\n

However, he was not in their plans for life in League Two. Thus he was loaned again, making a return to Stockport and scoring six times in 15 appearances.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking about his arrival, Fylde manager Jim Bentley<\/a> said<\/a>: “He’s quite adaptable, he can play out wide, he can play in the number 10, he can play in a three-man midfield.<\/p>\n

“He’s one of them that can play anywhere and that’s another real positive for us that he’s not just a one trick pony.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Walker commented on the Coasters ambition, saying: “It’s a club going forward, you can see the ambition to be in the Football League – I’ve done it with Salford, so hopefully I can do it here as well.<\/p>\n

“I’m attacking minded, comfortable on both wings – I like to get on the ball and make things happen.”<\/p>\n
