Liverpool’s<\/a> young forward Rhian Brewster has entered talks with Swansea City<\/a> over a loan move for the second half of the season. This is according to The Athletic’s James Pearce and Stuart James.<\/a> Brewster has found game time limited at Anfield this season and a loan move can only be beneficial for him.<\/p>\n

Game Time A Key Factor<\/h2>\n

Jurgen Klopp refused to sanction a loan move for Brewster in the summer. He viewed him as a key part of the Liverpool squad. However, Roberto Firmino<\/a>, Sadio Mane<\/a> and Mohamed Salah<\/a> have continued their fine form, making it difficult for any young attacker to break through to the first team.<\/p>\n

It may have been a more realistic target for Brewster to become their first choice back-up. However, Divock Origi<\/a> has also impressed when called upon this season following his elevation to cult hero due to his Champion’s League heroics. The imminent arrival of forward Takumi Minamino<\/a> means that he will find his game time even more limited.<\/p>\n

A loan, therefore, makes sense, allowing Brewster to establish himself in a team and thus play regularly.<\/p>\n

Cup Competitions<\/h2>\n

Brewster has so far only featured for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup in what are essentially reserve sides. He impressed in these fixtures, although such limited game time isn’t good for his development.<\/p>\n

Brewster will also hope to feature against Everton<\/a> in the FA Cup if his loan move hasn’t been completed by then. However, during his time at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has utilised the domestic cup competitions to rest his first choice team. This means that there is no guarantee of progress.<\/p>\n

By going on loan, Brewster will be able to prove his ability as a striker and increase his chances of breaking into the Liverpool team in the future.<\/p>\n
